prayer for ps khong

Dear family.. below is an email from pastor Debra.. we are assigned to pray for him on friday, 2nd Jan 12 noon-730 pm. it's a 7.5 hours slot.. yup.. we will discuss and assign the slots.. let's be in our post and position to pray..

mel

Hi Gals,

Churchwide just re-started 24 hr prayer for Ps Khong. For ynet, we are covering Wed & Fri every week whole year round. Do note that the definition of a day starts from 12 noon of the assigned date and ends 12 noon the next day. We have 3 dates for Jan round, total 4 rounds in 2009 (Apr, July & Oct too):

2 Jan 12noon Fri to 3 Jan 12noon: Melissa, Xueling, Huimin & Joelle, pl note
7 Jan 12 noon Wed to 8 Jan 12 noon: Dellia, Cindy, Rachel & all my 12, pl note. (Thur 9.30-12noon hard to find ppl to cover be it students or working ppl). Can anyone of you take another 15 min slot or suggest someone in your tribe who can & assign her?
9 Jan 12noon Fri to 10 Jan 12noon: Huiling, Celine & Abrie pl note.

The format of praying:

5 min: SP & Nina (marriage, spiritual walk & physical health)
5 min: SP’s family (Anthony, Priscilla & Isaac, Michelle, Daniel)
5 min: SP apostolic leadership (Love Singapore, G12, FCBC)
Any other things as the Lord leads.

For those with adult members, some can take a 30 min slot instead of doing 15 min slots. For the youths, you’d need to guide them. Do use this as a chance to teach them how to pray & learn to love their neighbour, in this case, SP. For Jan, do cover SP in prayer as he rises up to take on the Love Singapore leadership with stepping into Pastor’s prayer summit 12-15 Jan 09. Pray for favour with the churches and that unity will come to Singapore churches through SP. Pray also for the Chingay coming up, esp safety and that the whole performance will be successful for the glory of God. For those who are able to pray in tongues, this is also a place they can move into praying in tongues more too.

I won’t cover specifics in tomorrow’s congre. Will need you all to follow up on your own, so do check your slots on the roster attached. Cu tomorrow!

Amazing!!

So my dad was bringing joss paper out to burn, and my sis asked, "Ehh how come this time is you burn? Usually is mom right?" Behind my dad, my mom signalled no by crossing her arms, then pointed to herself and did the sign of the Cross that Catholics do. HAHAHA so cute.

Then at night she started talking to me about miracles. Then she told me, "Life is filled with troubles, i think one day i'd just go and believe in God with you, go church weekly and go do volunteer work." I said, "Don't you already believe in Him?" She replied, "I do...but i'm still like hanging in the middle now.." Hee she really knows...

Talked about how God has changed my life, and she affirmed that i really changed a lot after knowing Him. Then she told me, "Zhen, you must get married to a Christian mature man k...I can't wait for the day you get married (usually she'd say she'd be very sad when i get married and leave the house), because i know that i'd be entrusting you to the Lord, and your husband will take care of you. And i'd be so happy that i'd become more radiant, and your child-it'd be a son-will be such a joy to me, running to me and calling, "Grandma, Grandma!""

Aww...so amazing right. Then guess what, later on that night, she actually went to Spike and asked her, "Hui, why you never go to church anymore? Must go okay..."

Hallelujah. God You are so amazing.

Sandy's post follows:

Hi!! sorry for the late post... i'm soooo sooo sick... hope my post will make sense =) eh.. felt prompted to do some search on "talents".. found this article... =) Parable of the talents by Ray Watson “Well done good and faithful servant” How to be a faithful steward of that which God has given you The parable of the talents is found in Matthew chapter 25. It actually deals with the subject of money, but has broader application as well. The master gave three different amounts of money to three of his servants to invest as each was able, according to his ability. The servant with the most invested his amount wisely and so did the second, each according to his ability. The second man’s return was not as much as the first, but then he did not have as much to start with. God commends the first two servants as being faithful with what had been given them. But the third servant with the smallest talent did not use it and gave the master no return on His investment. His master called him unprofitable, lazy and “wicked”. Obviously God takes this business of being faithful with what you have been entrusted with, very seriously. I feel sorry for the unfaithful servant, because he made a tragic mistake. I do not believe he was necessarily “lazy” on purpose, he may have just failed to realise the significance of what he was given, and, as a result, failed to put it to good use. It was “only one” talent, and compared to the five talents given to the other man, what use was his one? Why even try and compete? Many people today are making this same mistake. How often have you heard this………”Oh, I can’t sing very well, I don’t think I should audition for the church choir.” Or……“My guitar playing isn’t very good, I could take lessons, but what’s the point, there are so many much more talented than I am.” Or the budding songwriter / author whose efforts pale in comparison to those seasoned in the industry, giving up after their first big “no”. There is a huge mistake being made by these millions of one-talent-holders in the kingdom, and it is this - the vast majority of kingdom business must be done by these people, and if they fail to do their part, the business of the kingdom is largely left undone. Not many people are given five talents and even fewer are given ten. The majority of people in the Kingdom are just one talent people, and most of the work of the kingdom is going to be done by the vast majority of these people. There are very few “gospel stars” or famous christian authors or well known evangelists. Most people are not saved by the eloquence of the worlds most gifted speakers. Most people are saved by the faithful workmate or relative who shares the gospel with them – imperfectly, but effectively nevertheless. Most people do not go to their local church to have some famous gospel group lead them in worship. No, it is the humble church musician who faithfully gives his one talent every Sunday, doing his best to honor the Lord with what has been entrusted to him. What would the forest be like if only the birds who sang the best were allowed to sing? It would be a very silent place. Where would the church be if only the world’s best were allowed to sing and play their instruments before the Lord? It would be a very quiet place. “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord!” The earth is robbed of God’s plan of bringing ministry to a hurt and dying world when the gifts He sends into the earth are despised by those who receive them. are unwise” ( 2Cor.10:12 ) “Let every man prove his own work and then he shall have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in aHave you despised your talent? Have you hidden it somewhere, too discouraged or too self centred to see beyond your own poor self image? It’s not about you. When God gave you a gift to sing dance play write or whatever, He wasn’t thinking about you, He was thinking of somebody else. We need to stop thinking about ourselves and comparing our gift with others, and just get on with the business of being faithful givers of what we’ve got. “They that compare themselves among themselves nother.” ( Gal.6:4) Acknowledge the uniqueness of your own calling, and give yourself to the world. Do not be unfaithful to those God has called you to by holding back your gift, because you are too proud to admit to the world that you are only a “one talent” vessel. Another reason every person should be faithful with their “talent” is for the sake of authenticity and uniqueness. When God made you He made you uniquely different. He gave you a background and perspective on life that no one else has. That means you have a story to tell that no one else can tell. He gave you a voice like none other, and like a finger print it uniquely identifies you. There is a beauty to your voice that cannot be matched by any other, and when you sing it has a sound that captures the ear because of its uniqueness. Rarity is what gives something it’s value. Diamonds are more valuable than coal because there is less of them. You are unique, and therein lies your great value to the world. No one will ever sing like you. No one will ever write songs like you. No one will ever minister quite like you. So who is going to sing your song if not you? No one can compete with you. You are the best “you” there is. It may only be one talent, but someone somewhere in the overall scheme of things needs what you have. That is why God judges so harshly the unfaithful servant, because by despising the gift entrusted to you, you deny someone something that was your responsibility to supply. yup.... part of the article that i felt speaks to me... hope it encourages you too... okie... back to the main point.. my little hopefully not very groggy thoughts... 1) what are the talents you can offer to the group? - organise/plan outings... - free theraputic massage?? haha... anyone? - sensitive and good listener - my love for community services - good supporter... can take lead if needs to 2) what are the possible challenges posed when in a mixed big group? - in depth sharings - not stable groups... most of the time will be spend "ice-breaking?" - more opinions/ more delays... 3) what are the ground rules to set to overcome the challenges? - split up for sharing but still muz try to create opportunity to mixed up so as to prevent clique from forming? - accountability... i'm sorry i'm quite bad in this. but i will learn =) - create a chance for everyone to share.. i think worksheet/blog is like a good idea... That's all for me now.... hope is relevant... finally... But remember, very few are given the privilege AND RESPONSIBILITY of ten talents. Just make sure you are faithful with whatever you have been given, and do not despise the day of small beginnings. love, sandy!!

invitation to Jesus' birthday party

Dear All,

As you well know, we are getting closer to My birthday. Every year there is a celebration in my honor and I think that this year the celebration will be repeated. During this time there are many people shopping for gifts, there are many Radio announcements, TV commercials, and in every part of the world everyone is talking that My birthday is getting closer and closer. It is really very nice to know, that at least once a year, some people think of Me.

As you know, the celebration of My birthday began many years ago. At first people seemed to understand and be thankful of all that I did for them, but in these times, no one seems to know the reason for the celebration. Family and friends get together and have a lot of fun, but they don't know the meaning of the celebration. I remember that last year there was a great feast in My honor. The dinner table was full of delicious foods, pastries, fruits, assorted nuts and chocolates. The decorations were exquisite and there were many, many beautifully wrapped gifts. However, do you want to know something? I was not invited. I was the guest of honor and they didn't remember to send me an invitation. The party was for me, but when that great day came, I was left outside, they closed the door in my face .. and I wanted to be with them and share their table. In truth, that didn't surprise me because in the last few years all close their doors to me. Since I wasn't invited, I decided to enter the party without making any noise. I went in and stood in a corner.

They were all drinking; there were some who were drunk and telling jokes and laughing at everything. They were having a grand time. To top it all, this big fat man all dressed in red wearing a long white beard entered the room yelling Ho-Ho-Ho! He seemed drunk. He sat on the sofa and all the children ran to him, saying: 'Santa Claus, Santa Claus' as if the party were in his honor! At midnight all the people began to hug each other; I extended my arms waiting for someone to hug Me and do you know no-one hugged Me. Suddenly they all began to share gifts. They opened them one by one with great expectation. When all had been opened, I looked to see if, maybe, there was one for Me. What would you feel if on your birthday everybody shared gifts and you did not get one?

I then understood that I was unwanted at that party and quietly left. Every year it gets worse. People only remember the gifts, the parties, to eat and drink, and nobody remembers Me. I would like this Christmas that you allow Me to enter into your life. I would like that you recognize the fact that almost two thousand years ago I came to this world to give My life for you, on the cross, to save you.Today, I only want that you believe this with all your heart. I want to share something with you. As many didn't invite me to their party, I will have my own celebration, a grandiose party that no one has ever imagined, a spectacular party. I'm still making the final arrangements. Today I am sending out many invitations and there is an invitation for you. I want to know if you wish to attend and I will make a reservation for you and write your name with golden letters in my great guest book.

Only those on the guest list will be invited to the party. Those who don't answer the invite, will be left outside. Be prepared because when all is ready you will be PART of MY GREAT PARTY.

See you soon. I Love you!

Jesus

yup.... part of the article that i felt speaks to me... hope it encourages you too...
okie... back to the main point.. my little hopefully not very groggy thoughts...

1) what are the talents you can offer to the group?
- organise/plan outings...
- free theraputic massage?? haha... anyone?
- sensitive and good listener
- my love for community services
- good supporter... can take lead if needs to

2) what are the possible challenges posed when in a mixed big group?
- in depth sharings
- not stable groups... most of the time will be spend "ice-breaking?"
- more opinions/ more delays...

3) what are the ground rules to set to overcome the challenges?
- split up for sharing but still muz try to create opportunity to mixed up so as to prevent clique from forming?
- accountability... i'm sorry i'm quite bad in this. but i will learn =)
- create a chance for everyone to share.. i think worksheet/blog is like a good idea...

That's all for me now.... hope is relevant...

finally...

But remember, very few are given the privilege AND RESPONSIBILITY of ten talents. Just make sure you are faithful with whatever you have been given, and do not despise the day of small beginnings.

love, sandy!!

mabel's 2 cents worth...

wow, finally manage to reset my password and all...

talents:
~ admin / collect $$
~ planning ahead
~ getting things done in a systematic way
~ listening

possible challenges & solutions:
~ finding a common time for cell -- after service? wkdays is too tiring...
~ sharing -- we need to know each other well enough to build a certain level of trust and rapport. start off with simple 'teambuilding' so we get to know everyone and be comfy with one another. for deeper sharing, split.
~ accountability -- i believe we should learn to be accountable not just to the leader, but also to one another. even in the little things, like if not going cell/service, can let others know. encourage one another to do QT, pray for one another in small grps.
~ more delays and dragging -- give everyone a chance to make decision.
~ different perspective coz women tend to be more of a feeler, and guys more of a thinker -- don't pass judgment, be more open.

Yvonne was here...haha

Talents to offer:
1) Can play/bring/loan/teach guitar
2) A listening ear (Val says I'm a GREAT listener)
3) Decorate cards
4) Spread the love of all things Japanese =D
5) Make cute cartoons to spruce up blog entrries

Possible Challenges:
1) cliques (gender based) may form, hard to move as one cell
2) can't share in length and in depth due to size and composition of group
3) harder to do admin stuff coz there are more pple now - break up into smaller groups to do admin and one person to oversee?? haha (sounds so bureaucratic)

Ground rules:
1) Make an effort to talk to pple we don't usually talk to
2) Be open to everyone's opinions, and talk through any disagreements
3) There is a tendency to be critical abt the opp gender, so refrain.

ah Peng ah~

Talents
- Can engage in good conversation
- an infectious smile-and-laughter
- Peace-maker
- Makes people around her comfortable
- Creative

Possible Challenges
- To accommodate everyone's opinions yet come to an unanimous decision
- There is usually no such thing as unanimous decision, haha, so the next challenge is to accept and be joyful about it.
- Not only to tolerate, but to really accept delays since it's a bigger group
- Distractions

Ground rules
- No complaints. But constructive opinions and suggestions or simply agreements.
- No gossip. So as to build trust.
- No teasing.

Strengths
- Different perspectives to learn from each other
- Dynamics

Hallo! I'm back! it's been some time since I have blogged over here. So exciting to see this blog come alive once again. :)

1. What are the talents you can offer to the group?
(seriously i can't think of any talents that i can offer) but i'm quite patient. So perhaps i can lend a listening ear and provide advice if needed.

2. What are the possible challenges?
- It may be difficult to accept each others' differences/habits/working styles etc. [Hence it is really important to grow in speaking the truth with love, grace and understanding]

3. What are some ground rules to set?
-Accountability to our cell leader is important since the group is bigger now. (of coz, its really up to individual)

Sorry i cannot really think of much now. As for now, it would be all these. If i have more, i will post up again. as you all know how SLOWW and blur i can be. ;)
By the way, thanks for everyone who's been there for me during this period of time. I have truly experience the love of a family and community. Love you.

Miss Rosanne's
Yay, my first entry *Grins*

1. What are the talents you can offer to the group?
- I can be a great listener
- I can create lots of laughter n fun?

2. What are the possible challenges posed when in a mixed big group
- Uncomfortable sharing more than the boundary of my own comfort zone
- Slow warmer (The bigger group, the slower I am to warm with pple whom I dunno. As in, I wont be able to talk to the person till I'm warmed to the person)
- When it comes to sharing, pple will tend to be pushy n paiseh to share, so time will delay. :X

3. What are the ground rules to set to overcome the challenges
- When I dont share in groups, of course, I'll share with Mel.
- Split up the group to let share. Let us decide who is the person to share, because we know who are the ones we're more comfortable with.
- Be bold to take the first step and start the ball rolling for everyone.

Blogged & Homework Up By: God's Precious Princess, Rosanne :))

Cheong ah

What are the talents you can offer to the group?
-organise games, parties and outings. One thing good about parties and outing is tat it helps us to gather and spend time with those who have been far away from the Lord..hopefully through the community, they can come back to God. This can also help others to buid their 12
-provide resources to help grow the teens cell...Like what mel say..teens cell should be a mixture of girls and guys...by combing cell with guang han guys...we can actually work with them, gather more resources...to build the teens cell....
-influence others to serve
- be a listening ear

What are the possible challenges?
- dont really feel comfortable to share personal matters in a big group
- easily distracted

What are some ground rules to set?
-be on time
-be accountable to mel...For me, i find it harder to share in bigger groups especially personal stuff...thus its impt to be accountable....
-focus in meeting God...put away our handphone(put it to silent mode) or ipod...or any device that can distract us

bangkok update

hey all... thanks for all your concern and prayers so far..on opur side, things are a little jam.. seems like all flight and coaches are fully booked.. we are considering alternatives but still lack of direction. We are doing well.. still sleeping and eating well.. heard that the tensions will escalate.. so looked like my hope that the airpot will be open soon is getting dim.

but looking at things, whatever the route we choose, it seems like we will not be able to return shortly.. for now, the adults' cell on 4th dec is on hold.. i am uncertain about the encounter.. do keep me updated about the guides going..there's leaders' mtg at TC this cmg wed.. saw the email.. leaders do attend and keep me updated.

Sorry that i sound uncertain.. cos nothing seems to be fixed here.

Please keep us in prayer.. Pray for Thailand too. We are believing that GOd wants us to encounter Him here before we leave this land, Pray the through this time we have here.. extra, unplanned time, that He will reveal Himself to us.

love and miss you all.

ps: pls get GH cell to read this, thanks!)

Post Encounter and SOL Schedule

Heyy girls, those who are supposed to go for PE (esp those in teens cell) and SOL1-3, this is the schedule. Please take note. I know the term is ending, but press on nevertheless! Better late than never ya. =)

For the younger girls, I hope you guys will not see this as an obligation, but truly as an opportunity to get to know God better, and even your fellow sisters and brothers in Christ as well. I believe, even as you discipline yourself to go down, that you will learn many wonderful lessons in life. Even as you choose to honour God, know that He too will honour you exceedingly. So be excited about going, and encourage each other along ya! =)

For the older girls (including myself), I think we too have fallen back on our discipline and passion, and i think we need to be examples to the next generation. I think some days no choice hafta miss cos of Encounter and My Hope, etc., but those we can make it, let's go together k! I still remember last time we used to have prayer meetings before classes, and eat together after that. Haha. Let's revive the old-school spirit!

Post Encounter and SOL 1 Schedule for 17 and below

A Miracle

Truly, truly (as Isaac would say)...there is NOTHING impossible for my God.

So mom and i went for the Canto evangelistic play ysd. Wow, i was so amazed by the energy and enthusiasm of the older/elderly. Naturally i found myself dancing along, singing along (to the han yu pin yin), clapping along. The youth should be ashamed of ourselves!!! We are so much younger, there's so many more of us, but the elderly beat us hands down when it comes to passion and energy. This is my first time attending Canto/Hokkein service and it rocked. Even though i don't understand a single word, except for the parts where Paul whispered the translation into my ear (Thank you, i know it must've been v tiring...Haha)

So there came a time where Paul whispered, "Ehh i'm tired alr, will stop here for now. Your mom looks like she's enjoying the sermon. You shd start praying for her." So i did. I mean, i have been praying, but that was like the crucial moments. And i thought, what have i not prayed for already? So i just prayed, "Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, please...soften her heart. Help her come to know You. Lord..." It was a plea. And then my mind started kicking in. I'd been praying by faith this time-i truly believed it would come to pass, that today IS the day. But what if it isn't? I was afraid of disappointment, but i told God, "Even if she doesn't receive You today, i believe a seed will be planted and she will come back next week." And then God said, "Don't pray for her to receive me, that is her choice, I have given her free will. Pray against the barriers that will stop her from coming to know Me-pride, your dad's reaction." And so i did.

Altar call time came-i only knew cos everyone started bowing their heads and closing their eyes. I prayed even harder now. The prayer seemed to go on forever. The Sinner's Prayer begun-i knew cos ppl were repeating what Pastor was saying. I followed. But i didn't hear my mom's voice. Later on, Pastor shouted "1, 2, 3!" and i peeked. I thought i saw my mom raise her hand, but i wasn't sure. But i really think i did. Oh mann. I couldn't believe it. I started to tear. Pastor asked us to open our eyes and stand up. Paul came with a salvation booklet, grinning. "Someone raised her hand. Guess who?" I could only nod numbly, mum for that moment. As i led my mom down, the tap opened. I started tearing uncontrollably, just couldn't stop. I have waited for this day for 5.5 years. Prayed for 5.5 years. God!!! You are so good. Nothing is impossible for You. God, my mom!! You saved my mom!! Indeeed, seek first Your Kingdom and Your Righteousness, and all things will be added onto me. Amen.

After Stella (Paul's sis) prayed for my mom, my mom turned around and comforted me. "Don't cry already girl.." LOL. The irony of it all. I hugged her. Someone from the ministry team came and asked if i needed prayer. Hahaha. How could i explain that they were tears of joy, not sorrow? I simply grinned through my tears and thanked her, but no thanks.

Yupp this is but the beginning of a wonderful journey. Firstly, my mom's gotta be assimiliated. Then my dad. And my sis, to come back to Him.

"If one in the family is saved, then all shall be saved"

This is the promise i have held tightly onto for years. And now, in God's perfect timing, it has been fulfilled-or is in the midst of being fulfilled. Just the right time, not one moment early, or a moment late. All these years i never once preached to my mom, never forced her to change her religion. But like Angus said, "I can't preach through words, but i can preach through my actions." And i believe she saw. I believe God saw.

May this be a wonderful testimony that will encourage the rest of you to press on, continue believing, continue praying hard. My God, our God, He will never fail.

We've recorded the song alr, but have problem uploading to Imeem. If anyone knows why cannot log in, please advice us. Thanks! =)

courtship 101...

yesterday at cell, those of us who attended the courtship seminar summarised the sessions for the benefit of those who were unable to make it... at this point of time, i don't think any of the singles among us would be starting to go into courtship within the immediate... haha... (laugh at myself)

well... like i've learnt from the lesson... we need to establish capacity for casual friendships... so i have tasked myself to be the casual friends making ambassador... i shall encourage casual dinners after service with guys whom we can all make casual friends with... NO STRINGS ATTACHED... =D i'd like to get married someday... so if i don't start making MORE casual friends... i think... very hard la... haha... since i wanna get married... i shall initiate the casual outings... not just to benefit myself... but EVERYONE! (sounds like a good plan to me) haha...

i went to dig out the old post... the one with the 42 criteria... and was laughing at my own silliness... haha... now i know why Mel asked us to keep it to 3 deal breakers... haha... as for me... now... the One... just have to be..
  1. a Godly passionate man who can spur me to love God even more...
  2. a person who will accept me for who i am, but still challenge me to change for the better...
  3. someone who can make me laugh and feel comfortable to be around...
no longer asking for the 42 criteria guy (that was so unrealistic)... haha... just the guy God has planned for me... =)

bible verses on the issue of gossip

Proverbs 11:13
A gossip betrays a confidence, but a trustworthy man keeps a secret.

Proverbs 16:28
A perverse man stirs up dissension, and a gossip separates close friends.

Proverbs 18:8
The words of a gossip are like choice morsels; they go down to a man's inmost parts.

Proverbs 20:19
A gossip betrays a confidence; so avoid a man who talks too much.

Proverbs 26:20
Without wood a fire goes out; without gossip a quarrel dies down.

faith as small as a mustard seed

Last night I was walking home from the mrt. I saw a man bending down to pick up a tissue paper on the pavement...he walked a few more steps and he picked up more rubbish. Out of curiosity, I followed him from a safe distance and he continued to bend down and pick up any rubbish that lies along his path. He is not some road sweeper...just someone who is socially conscious or obsessed about having a green environment. It does actually seem a bit ridiculous as there is so much rubbish around...he cant possibly finish picking them all.
Actually I learnt a lesson from him...it seem like such an impossible mission but I want to be like him touching lives as I go along the way. A little effort goes a long way...all it takes is faith as small as a mustard seed.

Tonite, I was chatting with my pupil online about the new teacher"my replacement". He was saying he hates her. When I asked why? He couldnt answer that question as a ten year old. I was evily thinking "haha I must have been irreplaceable in their hearts." But I ended off the conversation by telling him to be nice to her. It will take a while more for them to forget me.
But I have just received the highest compliment after three bitter years of detour. I have finally found my calling. Words alone cannot describe the inner peace in my heart and the sense of God's pleasure.

Jesus' little children club

children club is gonna be up and running this coming sat. so exciting. cant wait for it. but abit scared of the administration and kids... well at least admin is not so bad, it's a system which you will learn to master. on the other hand, kids have full of potential to surprise you. they give you ans which you nv tot of. ask you questions you nv heard of. yet you wonder why are you sitting there teaching them primary school work. they are born with the potential to excel in the areas they want but stumbled at answering questions in the assessment books. ironic aye. ahh... we, volunteers, mostly young adults, know the answer to the questions but have difficulty explaining simply to them. oh my... we are all complex beings in every life stages. we need God we gel the generations up. mayb after all, it aint so complicated.

juz let me share sth, before i close this entry. as most of you know that the opening of this club wasnt a big bang. we actually, postponed 2 times due to lack of applications. after the second postpone, i wasnt very sad nor happy about it. juz an nonchalant "ok lor". and i felt that this wasnt really a right attitude. so i asked myself, why do i wan to start this children club in the first place. and i found my ans in the bible, Luke18:15-18 (MSG). the passage is titled The Little Children and Jesus.

"People brought babies to Jesus, hoping he might touch them. When the disciples saw it, they shooed them off. Jesus called them back. "Let these children alone. Don't get between them and me. These children are the kingdom's pride and joy. Mark this: Unless you accept God's kingdom in the simplicity of a child, you'll never get in."

Jesus loves and treasures every children in this world. He wants to be with them. so let us as gd servants of Christ, keep the doors open for Jesus to play and mentor the kids. one day they will know who is Jesus, coz they see Him through us. and pray for that the day will come when they will hear Him calls their names.

John 4: 13-14
Jesus answered, "Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life."

In the daily walks of our lives, we go dry and empty.. however there is nothing that will fill us, not even more physical rest, or physical food. Not people or things we do, but only the water that the Lord gives, as you come, be prepared to drink of the Lord.

Continue to work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.. only He sees your daily going out and coming in. Finish the race strong.

The next generation...

Dear family.. please pray along with me.. I have been feeling a burden for the next generation.. the youths, the teens. My desire is really to see them growing strong and choosing a life of COMMITMENT in the Lord.

Thus far, we have started the Teens Xcite.. i believe as we continue to move in this, GOd's annointing will flow. But i pray that we will not become comfortable in our current spiritual family.. but let's live a life of difference not a life of indifference, to make a difference to the lives of the youths. At times, i forget this and lose that focus.. so before i get comfy, i decided to post this as a reminder to myself and all.

Let's start looking at the youths and people around through the eyes of Jesus.

I hope to talk about this soon with you..do seek the Lord along with me.

ALso, i would like to commence a combine youth cell, next sunday, 27 Apr, 11.45, Hall 9, starting with the teens, for 2 objectives:

1) to see the teens grow in community and commitment.
2) to see the leaders grow in impartation and empowerment.

Will you share this burden and heartbeat with Jesus today? =)

P.s. congrats Fiona.. MAy you grow from strength to strength.

love ya..
mel
